Mark Dismore Jr. to run PRD at LAKC

Mark Dismore Jr. of “Comet Kart Sales” (Indianapolis, IN) will be traveling to sunny Southern California to compete at the 2012 L.A.K.C. opener at CalSpeed on February 12, 2012. Mark will be entered in the Senior PRD T.A.G. Controlled Class on an Arrow Kart.

Comet Kart Sales is one of the oldest continuously operating kart shops in America. Founded by Emerson Dismore in 1957 and developed into one of the largest and most successful kart shops in America. “Diz” as he was known, was a multi time I.K.F. & W.K.A. Champion in several divisions.

In 2002, Mark Dismore Sr. took the reins at Comet Kart and with his family and dedicated staff continues to operate Comet. Mark Sr. is a many time I.K.F. & W.K.A. Champion. Mark Sr. went on to race KART/IRL from 1989 thru 1999. Other notable experiences include Mark, Dan Gurney and Rocky Moran winning the Rolex 24 hours of Daytona in 1993. One of his most memorable experiences was the 24 Hours of LeMons where he and his teammates raced a 210 mph Viper to a 10^th place finish. Not to bad for a kart racer from America.

Mark Jr., like Senor is fully involved in Comet Kart Sales. Jr. also operates the family track in New Castle. New Castle may be the finest kart track in America. New Castle sports a great racing surface and configuration as well as a restaurant, bar and parts store.

Mark Jr. is a many time W.K.A. Champion. In 1998 he won the coveted S.C.C.A. Rookie of the year title. In 1999, Mark Jr. and teammate Dan Wheldon raced the U.S. Formula Ford Pro Tour and in 2000 he competed in the A.S.A. Currently, the demands of running the business has severely limited Mark’s racing. He turned up for the L.A.K.C. race by competing at the Florida Winter Tour.

PRD-USA

The Cal State Karting Championship Series will host the PRD Challenge sponsored by RLV/PRD-USA.  The challenge will take place June 5, 2011, during Round 4 of the Cal State Karting Series at Willow Springs Kart Track.

The following classes will be competing in the PRD Challenge:

Senior PRD TAG Controlled

Junior II PRD TAG Controlled

Junior I PRD TAG Controlled

PRD CHALLENGE FORMULA:

1.     Two (2) PRD Class “Defenders” selected from participants in the PRD TAG Controlled classes of Round 2 and Round 3 of the Cal State Karting Series.  The balance of the competitors will be the “Challengers”.

2.     A minimum of 10 drivers must be entered in each of the PRD TAG Controlled classes to be eligible to participate in the PRD Challenge.

3.     A single cash award for each PRD TAG Controlled class will be sponsored by RLV/PRD-USA.

4.     To collect the award, any “Challenger(s)” must finish in front of both “Defenders” and pass post race tech.  In the event more than one Challenger finishes in front of both “Defenders” and pass post race tech the first five  “Challengers” will divide the award equally.

5.     If no “Challenger” wins the race the funds will be awarded to the “Defender” winning the race and passing post race tech.
